The Story of Lily Birdd
For as long as I can remember, I have been obsessed with flowers. In many ways, I feel like I gave meaning to the Miley Cyrus lyric, “I can buy myself flowers.” I would fill my room with bouquets of every kind, wild, fragrant, whimsical and each one brought me an unbelievable amount of joy. There was something magical about choosing them, arranging them, and catching a glimpse of them as I walked by.
Over time, I became enamored with the idea that everyone should experience that same feeling, beauty you can share, admire, and keep close.
In 2018, I launched a small at-home floral studio, carefully curating arrangements for intimate events and special occasions. But I soon found myself in a peculiar challenge: I could never truly predict demand. Some weeks I had too little inventory, and others I had far too much. And nothing broke my heart more than watching gorgeous flowers wilt before they made it into someone’s hands.
Somewhere in the middle of that heartbreak, I went searching for a solution something timeless, elegant, and low-maintenance that still sparked joy. That’s when I found myself drawn to succulents, beautiful, mysterious, and strong-willed. A type of plant that endures. They last for months, even years, yet still look as elegant and captivating as any curated bouquet. There was something poetic about their resilience, their quiet beauty, their ability to thrive with just a little love.
And that’s how Lily Birdd was born.
From a small studio and a simple desire to spread joy, it has grown into a passion project rooted in elegance, intention, and the belief that beauty should last. Every arrangement is thoughtfully designed to bring someone the same warmth and happiness I felt in those early days, moments of pause, comfort, and delight.
Lily Birdd is more than a plant.
It’s a feeling.
Love, Aamina
